(2-3 years old)

Their world is opening up, so we bring a world of learning to them!

There is so much wonder and curiosity in this age. We provide a tonne of books and toys and lower the artwork to the level of young children as a result. Children in the Discovery Preschool start to learn the fundamentals of how everyone works together in a classroom.

Explore the discovery preschool classroom

Take a look at how we set up our classroom for preschoolers. It’s organized for their age and stage of learning and development.

Daily classroom schedule

Children at this age enjoy routine. To help them see what’s coming up next, we use a schedule with basic pictures. They continue to feel confident about the day’s events and their participation in the plan as a result. In the morning circle, we will discuss our day and there will be numerous visual cues placed all around.

Doing things independently

Your child will gain more independence at Discovery Preschool by learning how to wash their hands and use the restroom on their own. Our classrooms’ furniture, toilets, and sinks are all kid-sized so that students can feel confident that they can complete tasks on their own.

Inside a preschooler’s day

For preschoolers, our loving teachers establish a daily routine that includes group time, story time, outdoor play, meals and snacks, naps, and most importantly, lots of unstructured playtime.

Group time

Every day, group activities take place in each of our classrooms. Children in the discovery preschool come together to study community cooperation. Books will be read aloud by teachers, who will also sing.

Meals and snacks

Preschoolers eat a meal every day that consists of wholesome grains, lean proteins, and fruits and vegetables—never juice or fried food.

Outdoor playtime

Weather permitting, the majority of our classes spend 20 to 30 minutes outside at least twice daily. Kids at this age are off running and exploring while using their imaginations!

Preschool curriculum

Your child will develop skills from our teachers that will prepare them for “big kid school.” They adjust to a more structured school environment with the aid of simple math and science, pretend play, and group activities.

Building brainpower and strong bodies

For our youngest preschoolers, we incorporate simple math concepts, such as patterning and counting, into enjoyable daily activities that involve singing, clapping, and movement. By learning each other’s names and putting toys away, we also develop our memory and concentration abilities.

Learning to share and make friends

These years are for learning to share! We assist them in developing those abilities and teach them how to take turns. Preschoolers broaden their social networks, meet new people, and appreciate diversity as they learn more about it.

Writing and understanding stories

We do a lot of both every day because at this age, kids really start to understand writing and drawing as forms of expression. They can also pose and respond to inquiries about the books we read.

Expressing themselves

Preschoolers have more artistic mediums at their disposal than ever before. They have the ability to express themselves through music, play dress-up and pretend games, work with clay, and paint.

Preschool classroom activities

Every day, our creative teachers guide preschoolers through fun activities that are just right for their age. Here are just a few examples!

What’s This?

Head, shoulders, knees, and toes! Kids learn to identify, name, and count different body parts.

Clap Your Hands

Teachers start a simple clapping pattern and ask kids to use their ears to listen and then repeat a pattern.

One Block at a Time

Kids learn about sequence and doing things one step at a time by stacking a few blocks to build a tower.
